The Body of Christ

By Heidi Blokland

“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” I Cor 12:27

If you have walked the school halls recently, you may have noticed an amazing collaborative creation. We can him Tim, short for Timothy, short for Timothy Christian School community.

During our Community Circle, we gathered together in our Kingdom Building Groups and talked about how we are all different. We like different things, we think differently, we learn differently, we have different experiences. And yet, despite all of our differences, we are one community – we are the body of Christ.

Each student and staff member was given a piece of the body to colour and decorate as they wanted.

As you can see each piece is different and unique. And when we put it all together ….

Each piece is different and unique, just as each person in the school community is different and unique. God has brought the TCS school community together. When we work together we can be a blessing to others.

When the apostle Paul talks about the body of Christ, he says, “If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.” I Cor 12:17-19

And so it is here at TCS. There are many students and staff members, but one community.

We are all a part of the body of Christ!
