Royalty Day!

By Heidi Blokland

Today was our first Fab Friday of the year.

On Fab Fridays we dress up according to a theme and this theme was Royalty Day.

The halls were filled with kings and queens, princesses and knights.

We also had some creative interpretations of royalty, with queen bees even king kong!

Our day started as we joined together for a singing chapel.

It was fun to see everyone dressed up to sing some songs together.

One song was King of my Heart, where we sang the words:

Let the King of my heart
Be the mountain where I run
The fountain I drink from
Oh, He is my song

We also sang No Longer Slaves joining together to sing:

I’m no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God
I’m no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God

Singing together reminded us who we are and whose we are … we are children of God, we are children of the King of kings!

How wonderful to think that no matter who we are, whether we’re the real Queen of England, or we’re just dressing up as the Queen of England for the day, we are royalty, sons and daughter of the King!

And may we always live to build His Kingdom!
