Teaching about biomes

What is a biome?
The Grade 6-8 class recently learned about the different biomes around the world. After spending time creating a mini biome, filled with plants and animals who did they want to share their learning with – their little buddies!!
The Kindergarten students had a little bit of an idea of what a biome was because they had spent time learning about the Rainforest. They were excited to make connections and learn new things from their big buddies.
Their big buddies taught them that the sun shines on the earth at different angels and how that makes some places hotter or colder. This gave the Kindergarteners another connection – this time to what they are learning about space.
