Land Art

By Heidi Blokland

Thursday afternoon the Grade 3/4/5 class ventured outside to explore God’s creation in order to find building blocks for art. The only parameters were that it needed to be something from nature. Students were given examples of other land art to view and then were told to search for different colours, textures and patterns to create their masterpiece.

Slowing down to explore we see some of the intricacies of how God made a single blade of grass, the folds of a leaf and the many shapes and textures of stones and sticks.

The end result gives praise to the ultimate creator of all things living.

Oh sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth!

Psalm 96:1
