Music

A music class in the outdoor classroom

Music

Music is introduced to the primary grades (JK-2) by teaching rhythm with sticks and shakers.

Boomwhackers are also used to teach basic note recognition, rhythm and playing songs as a class.

Grades 3-8 learn to read music while learning to play the recorder.

Grades 6-8 further learn musical skills by practicing on ukuleles.

Music is an important part of worship in our school, and each class takes a turn leading the school in Chapel.

The students love to participate with the guitars, drums, ukuleles, piano and the box drum. It is wonderful to see the students’ sharing their musical talents by leading our worship songs!
