Building Community

Students gather in community

Building Community

Building Community is very important at Timothy Christian School. We are intentional about building community among the students as well as with parents, supporters and neighbours.

Each year students in all grades are given a buddy from a different grade. They meet once a week to do a variety of activities together. These activities help the older students to learn leadership skills and give students a chance to develop positive relationships.

The students are also divided into Kingdom Building Groups which are cross grade groups that meet once a week to build community as a small group. The groups will gather together for devotions, play a game together or participate in some other activity. This time is designed to allow students the opportunity to grow as a caring and supportive community.

Community is built with parents and supporters through student led monthly chapels. A couple of larger events are the Christmas Program and Spring Celebration of Learning which everyone is invited to.

We seek to build community with the greater community through a variety of activities, such as singing at the local retirement home, collecting food for the local food bank and creating Remembrance Day art for the local legion.
