DANGEROUS WEATHER CONDITIONS (SNOW DAYS)
There is no school when the
busses of the Upper Canada School Board are cancelled. Their most current
website link showing the transportation status is
http://www2.ucdsb.on.ca/transportation/viewcancelled.cfm.
Check particularly the St. Lawrence Region. Parents are encouraged to listen
to radio reports. Our school closing will be mentioned on CHRI (99.1 FM).
Parents won’t be called if the Upper Canada school busses are not running. If
you don’t have power at home, call the principal at home at 613-360-1867 or
at school at 613-535-2687.
EMERGENCY CLOSING
We will rarely close the
school early because of the hassle that it can cause. However, in case of
severely inclement weather conditions, or other reasons (e.g. loss of power or
water), all parents will be notified first by email, with an immediate
“received” reply expected back to the office. Any parents who haven’t replied
by email will be phoned. If we get no answer at home, emergency contacts will
be called. If we have not had communication with a parent or emergency
contact for a student who is part of a car pool, and we have not received the
previous signed permission form for the child(ren) to go home, that student
will be allowed to leave the school but must then stay with the driver of the
pool that day. We would expect the child(ren) to be picked up as soon as
possible. We will no longer use the system of one parent calling the next,
etc. as there are inevitably too many breaks in the chain. No child will be
left by him/herself at the end of the day.
