DRESS CODE
We want our
students to reflect the fact that they are God’s children and His
ambassadors. All of us also are committed to the goals expressed in our
school’s vision statement. Girls (and boys) in grades 5-8 are not to wear
clothing that may be distracting, that may interfere with learning and could
perhaps cause unnecessary competition. Such clothing includes tank tops and
tops with spaghetti straps. Sleeves are required for both boys and girls.
Tops must be long enough that no skin is showing between top and bottom. If we
see such clothing, students may be given one of the school's sport shirts to
wear for the day. We count on students and their parents to use discretion
regarding low necklines and any logos that may be on clothes. Students are
not to wear jeans (or other pants) with holes in them to school.
All students
are encouraged to wear their TCS T-shirts (or at least something navy blue) on
Wednesdays. Every Wednesday is a Welcome Wednesday, kind of an
on-going open house for prospective parents.
Many kids wear
sandals to school. That’s acceptable, but they still need indoor white-soled running
shoes. Students must have their regular outdoor running shoes for outdoor
phys. ed. classes. Trying to participate in sandals is just not effective.
Students are not allowed to walk around in their bare feet for obvious health
reasons.
